We can add another rumor to our list for Sony's next-generation console as it's being said that the classic DualShock controller that's been around since 1997 might not be part of the PS4.

A reported source close to Sony informed ComputerandVidoGames.com that the PS4 controllers being tested are not of the DualShock design.

They state that a senior games source says Sony is working on a few different variations, none of which resemble what gamers are accustomed to with the previous and current system.

The rumor mentions that part of Sony's PS4 "experiments" for the new controller include biometric sensors, which could be used as a heart beat sensor, and an LCD touch screen.

A second source even corroborates the touch screen notion in that they are trying to make it similar to the PS Vita's interface, which uses touch-screen capabilities.

CVG goes on to state that the DualShock may not be retired completely as it could still be used as a side peripheral for the PS4, much like the Wii Remote used for the Wii U.

An announcement for Sony's PS4 should be made within weeks - and not months - they also note.

Some of the previous PS4 rumors include 4D and 3D graphics, no backwards compatibility and the elimination of the second-hand video game market of trading in and reselling games.
